"BEHIND THE BARBWIRE"
ISSUE #001 OCTOBER 6, 2010
Well, if you are reading this then you are on my newly acquired prison e-mail list, or someone has forwarded it to you. I am allowed a maximum of 100 names on my e-mail account, and since my account is only one week old and each name has to be approved before I can send out a request for your e-mail address, at this time I am a long way from maxxing out my account.
Since this e-mail privilege cost me by the minute and it is not cheap, my plan is to write at least one newsletter per month and tell all of you the new and exciting things going on in my life here in beautiful Bastrop, Texas while I am a guest of the United States Bureau of Prisons (BOP). I am not sure yet how detailed of a description I will be able to share with you regarding what happens to me, and about my surroundings around here, but I will learn as time goes by. Theoretically, I do still have the first amendment right of freedom of speech, but I am sure if I start telling it like it really is in the U.S. Federal Prison System, I will eventually be censored. But we will see where this goes and I will adjust as the need arises.
My primary intent is not that I'm wanting to be a thorn in the side of the Federal Bureau of Prisons even though at times I am sure it will seems like it. My primary intent for this newsletter is just to stay in touch with my family and friends, and to just make the best out of a bad situation. You know, it's like I've been handed a load of lemons, so I might as well make some lemonade.
So, I am looking forward to keeping you all informed of what is going on in my little world behind the barbed-wire fence. And I am also looking forward to your comments and/or questions. The bottom line with all of this is, the government has tried to shut me up, but I still have more to say. But at this time, I'm just not sure what it is yet!
